Brief Profile:

Ms. Ashita Thakur is an Assistant Professor of Communication at the Faculty of Sciences (FoS), Adani University, Ahmedabad. She is also a PhD scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, where her doctoral work focuses on the representation of labour in South Korean dramas. She has over 6 years of research experience, in which she simultaneously assisted professors as a teaching assistant in classes on Communicative English, Professional Communication, and Sci-Fi and Fantasy, for which she assisted with leading discussions and engaging BTech students in activities to improve their communication skills. She has her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Panjab University and cleared her UGC NET JRF in 2018.

Her research interests primarily include Cultural Studies, Popular Culture, Asian Culture and Labour Studies. She has experience with organising events such as conferences and symposiums at her alma mater, also having worked as a core team member of the education working group meeting at the Amritsar chapter of G20. In addition to her academic pursuits, she also has professional experience as an illustrator and animator.
