Biography:

Prof. Mukesh Parikh is a trainer and consultant for Global Maritime, Logistics and Supply chain Industry with over 45 years’ hands-on Industry experience. The first half of his career was in Commercial Shipping, while the second half was in Ports, Terminals and Logistics Industry. With Post Graduation in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur (1975-77 batch); he started his Maritime Industry career with The Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI). During his career with the SCI, he was trained as an Instructor by UNCTAD. As a trained instructor, he was actively involved in Training through an UNCTAD+UNDP project “TRAINMAR”. Under the TRAINMAR project, he organized several training programs for shipping executives in India, Indian Sub-Continent, Asia and Middle East. He was deputed by The SCI to The Norwegian Shipping Academy Oslo, Norway where he attended one year “Professional Shipping” program securing the First Rank among all participants from 14 different countries.

He worked for a number of shipping companies in Asia and the Middle East. In 1997, he joined The Adani Group in Senior Management position from the inception stage of Mundra Port and made a major contribution to set up Business Development and Marketing team as well as prepare Standard Operating Procedures for the entire spectrum of Operations in the port. Since July 2014, he has conducted several Executive Training Programs and workshops in Maritime Industry across the world.

In November 2019, he joined Adani Institute of Infrastructure (now Adani University) as Adjunct Professor, where he continues to be involved with The Centre of Excellence – Transportation and covers Ports and Shipping Management, Logistics and Multimodal Transport. He joined Gujarat Maritime University(GMU) as an Adjunct Professor in September 2022 and he covers Port Management, Multimodal transport and logistics and Ship Chartering courses for MBA students. He is also a member of The Academic Council at GMU.

His main focus is to guide and help policy makers; present and future leaders of Maritime, logistics and transport industries by sharing his experience in these domains.
