Brief Profile:

Professor Mukesh Parikh is associated with Global Maritime Industry for over 40 years. He has a distinction of having hands on Maritime Industry experience with regular involvement in training and development throughout his distinguished career. During his career in shipping, since 1980, he is associated with UNCTAD/UNDP training programs conducted under “Trainmar” project. He was selected and trained as an instructor by UNCTAD to develop and conduct training programs for the maritime industry. He developed and conducted a number of programs in South-East Asia, Indian sub-continent and Middle East under this project. In 1986-87, he attended one year course on “Professional Shipping” at the Norwegian Shipping Academy, Oslo.

A sound foundation of the shipping industry and clear understanding of market and customer expectations enabled him to build his next phase of career in port and terminal industry. He has worked with Adani Ports since inception of Mundra port in 1997 as head of marketing and made a major contribution in setting up the marketing and business development teams and training the team members.

Since 2014, he took up advisory and consultancy role for the maritime industry. He regularly conducts executive and supervisory training programs covering important and major aspects of the maritime industry and logistics. In 2019, he joined Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management (now Adani University) as Adjunct Professor in Center of Excellence – Transport where he teaches Port & Shipping Management; Cargo & multimodal logistics.
