MoU Signing between Adani Institute for Education and Research (AIER) and Andhra University (AU)

Adani Institute for Education and Research (AIER) Ahmadabad and The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights Andhra University and have organized a joint webinar on the theme of University IPR Policy: Key for Achieving Academic Excellence today.
During the webinar, an MOU was signed between AU and AIER on a virtual mode to promote academic cooperation between the two institutes. The MOU was signed by Prof M Muruganant Director AIER and Prof V Krishna Mohan Registrar Andhra University.
In his address Prof PVGD Prasad Reddy, Vice Chancellor – AU said it is a significant partnership between the two legendary academic institutions. AIER is promoted by the Adani group one of the major Indian Multinational Conglomerate having diverse business interests across the globe and special development focus in Andhra Pradesh and establishing a huge data Centre park in the name and style of Vizag Tech Park Ltd (VTPL) at Visakhapatnam. He hoped that the MOU would facilitate establishing partnership between the two institutions to enhance learning, research and innovation and strengthen the ongoing initiatives of the university.
Prof M Muruganant Director AIER said it is a privilege to partner with the oldest and largest Multidisciplinary cum Research University in the country. We look forward for fruitful collaboration in promoting Intellectual Property, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Startups and Skill development. He further emphasized that need-of-the hour in our great nation is to bring together such ventures leading to joint programs in teaching-learning and research along the national thrust areas, creating a new generation of thought leaders to build the knowledge economy.
Prof V Krishna Mohan Registrar Andhra university said Andhra University is a pioneer in promoting IP, innovation and entrepreneurship and has taken lot of innovative initiatives in the last two years and the University brought out a IPR policy for the first time and introduced IPR as a mandatory credit course for Undergraduate Engineering courses. He has further explained the salient features of the MOU.
While delivering the talk on the webinar them Prof H Purushotham DPIIT-IPR Chair Professor emphasized the need for promoting IPR culture in the academia and the importance of filing patents by universities particularly in securing better national and international university rankings, promoting industry-academia collaborations and the overall impact the IPs created by the universities in regional and national economy.
